About a year ago, high schools Vaasan lyseon lukio and Vasa gymnasium joined forces for the Sierra Leone project. The goal was to make students grow as world citizens and to develop a cooperation between youths in Finland and Sierra Leone.
In the spring of 2014 students from the two schools traveled to Sierra Leone to experience the country for real and to get a feel for what education and entrepreneurship can do to help a nation back on its feet after a long civil war.
To help support education for the youth of Sierra Leone a fundraiser was held. We at Gambit are happy to contribute to the project.
Sierra Leone is one of the countries in West Africa worst affected by the current ebola epidemic. If you want to help in the fight against ebola, you can donate to Sierra Leone project partner Finnish Refugee Council.
