I've got a Slush on you

What are the takeaways from Slush 2016 in Helsinki?

Five people from Gambit had the pleasure of visiting Europe’s hottest start-up event Slush and we have just wrapped up our visit after two action packed days of speakers and networking. The Helsinki conference has grown to a huge phenomenon in just a few years and it’s easy to understand why.

Slush is a quality production from start to finish with an impressive mix of talented start-ups and speakers from all across the globe. Some of the top names included Spotify CEO and founder Daniel Ek and Supercell co-founder Ilkka Paananen.

The goal is to celebrate entrepreneurship and help new tech businesses grow and succeed. This year was also about embracing the darker side of building a business and how you can learn from the inevitable mistakes you’re going to make along the way. The speaking topics also ranged from more personal stories and predictions about the future of the tech industry.

Other hot topics included Artificial intelligence, virtual reality and cyber security which you can expect to get even more attention in the upcoming year.

For us at Gambit we are happy to see that we are on the right track in our way of thinking. A lot of our strategical thinking the past year lines up well with what was voiced by the top names in the business. Of course, we could also humbly conclude that there’s room for improvement and those thoughts will follow us during our yearly strategy weekend that is just around the corner.
