The annual EnergyWeek in Vaasa gathers thousands of energy enthusiasts from all over the world to share information, hear about news from the industry, extend their networks and do business.
In 2019 the event decided to lower their environmental footprint and limit the amount of printed material to an absolute minimum. To make sure that the 4000 plus visitors still get all the necessary information they need about the program and getting around the city, they decided that an app was the best way to go.
It all started with a prototype
Gambit partnered with the EnergyWeek team and started by making a rapid prototype that made sure we replaced all the previously printed material with an all-digital alternative. After some minor feedback we moved on the actual coding. Thanks to good planning the final app was delivered well over a month before the event kicked off. The app can easily be updated for next year’s event to not only lower the environmental impact but also the overall costs.
The perfect event companion
The final app, that works for both Android and iOS, includes a handy overview of the schedule and detailed information about all seminars. It’s also possible to leave feedback and take notes about the seminars you’ve visited throughout the week. If you’re visiting from out of town, you’ll also get easy access to where to sleep, eat and drink during your stay.
